is a high risk OB GYN, women’s health advocate, and author
Dr. Tracy Shevell is a high risk OB GYN, women’s health advocate, and author whose work bridges clinical expertise with a deeply personal understanding of the gaps within the healthcare system. With more than two decades in academic medicine, she has cared for women through complex pregnancies and high risk medical situations, developing a nuanced perspective on both the strengths and limitations of modern healthcare.
After navigating her own complex health challenges, Tracy’s work began to shift toward a more integrative and patient centered approach. She became increasingly interested in how women can be better supported not only through medical care, but through education, language, and self trust. Her work now focuses on empowering women to understand their bodies, ask informed questions, and advocate for themselves within systems that can often feel overwhelming or disempowering.
Blending medical knowledge with emotional and intuitive awareness, Tracy encourages a more collaborative and human approach to care. Through her writing, teaching, and advocacy, she invites women to reconnect with their own inner authority, supporting them in making decisions with greater clarity, confidence, and trust.
She is the author of Labor and Deliverance (forthcoming 2026), a book that reflects her commitment to reimagining how women experience pregnancy, birth, and healthcare more broadly.
