Holds a PhD and a Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work and has over a decade of psychoanalytic psychotherapy training from the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis.
With 30 years of experience, Dr. Meyers has worked with diverse populations in various settings, including outpatient mental health, inpatient psychiatry, child welfare, family court, and program development. Her roles have also included providing consultation and training for the Administration for Children’s Services and serving as Clinical Director of Family Justice, a community and research-based organization.
Dr. Meyers is a Professor and the Director of Field Education at Molloy University on Long Island, where she teaches courses such as Human Behavior Across the Life Span, Diversity: Oppression, Privilege, and Social Justice, and Clinical Practice. Her research interests include family dynamics, with an extensive qualitative study on sibling abuse presented at national conferences. Additionally, she contributed to transforming a Long Island school district's culturally responsive education efforts, earning the Educating Communities/Diversity Award from Long Island Business News.
In November 2022, Dr. Meyers launched her podcast, What Would Dr. Meyers Do?: Insights, Not Oversights, which addresses clinical issues and is available on her website and major podcast platforms.
