Dr. Kate Balestrieri is the founder of Modern Intimacy, a platform dedicated to addressing the intersection of mental health, relationships, and sexuality. She earned her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Chicago. Throughout her career, Dr. Balestrieri has conducted clinical and forensic evaluations, provided expert witness testimony, and offered therapy in various settings. She is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and a Certified Sex Therapist, with additional training in the NeuroAffective Touch Model, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma Sensitive Yoga. Dr. Balestrieri is also trained in alternative dispute resolution, collaborative divorce, and custody evaluations. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association and the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals. Through Modern Intimacy, she aims to create a safe, inclusive space for individuals to access education and therapy related to trauma, relationships, and sexual health.
